“My Severed Arm” is part of my Halloween short-project series for Dreams and Nightmares, focusing on pushing an existing human asset into a more graphic horror direction. Most of the work went into the texturing pass, building up layered bruising, skin discolouration, damaged tissue, blood staining, and variation around the severed area. Extra attention was given to breaking up the surface response between skin, dried blood, exposed flesh, and wetter areas so the material still reads clearly under close-up lighting.
